Polyimide has been widely used in electrical appliances, electronic devices, aerospace, new energy and other fields because of its excellent comprehensive properties such as high temperature resistance, high strength, high modulus, electrical insulation, radiation resistance, corrosion resistance, and damp heat resistance. With the development of modern technology and industry, the application field of polyimide film continues to expand, and the global demand for polyimide film is increasing day by day. At present, the application of polyimide film in the fields of electrical insulation, electronic devices, flexible display, and 5G communication is gradually developing in the direction of segmentation, diversification, and customization, and there is an urgent need for high insulation, low expansion, high transparency, low/high dielectric, and high thermal conductivity polyimide films. After decades of development, China has made certain research achievements in the field of polyimide film, but the technical ability is still relatively backward, and technological breakthroughs have yet to be achieved in high-end fields such as high-speed variable frequency motors, flexible copper clad laminates, and new displays.

In order to promote the interaction between the R&D, production and application of polyimide film in China, and promote the technological breakthrough and industrial upgrading of polyimide film, the Insulation Materials Branch of China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, the Insulation Materials and Insulation Technology Committee of China Electrotechnical Society, Guilin Electrical Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Dongying Xinbang Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. jointly held the "Second Polyimide Film Technology and Application Technology Exchange Conference" in Dongying, Shandong Province from May 18 to 20, 2023.
